Bailey’s Cottages is a fourth-generation family run small business - featuring cottage rentals, RV and camping sites, and boat, canoe and kayak rentals located in the rural countryside on Moira Lake  (just outside of Madoc, ON).

At Bailey’s, we embrace the simple life! Our cottages offer an unplugged getaway with just the right touch of convenience: perfect for a family get-away, quality time with friends or even a remote work arrangement.

Power & Comfort: Your cabin is equipped with electricity, so you can keep your devices charged and enjoy cozy lighting in the evenings. Perfect for charging your phone to capture that prize-winning catch!

The Bathhouse: Similar to a Provincial Park, our central washroom is a short, scenic walk away. It is fully equipped with hot water, private showers, and flush toilets.

Potable Well Water: For cooking and dishes, a fresh-water well is located nearby. A quick stroll to the pump provides all the water you’ll need for the cabin

What to Bring: To keep things simple and rustic, we provide high-quality mattress protectors on all beds. We ask that you bring your own favorite pillows, cozy bedding, and towels for the bathhouse.

Forgot something? With advance notice, we’re happy to provide a full linen set (sheets, blankets, and pillows) for one bedroom for a modest fee, payable upon arrival.

What is a "Housekeeping" Cottage?

If this is your first time staying in a housekeeping cottage—welcome! Unlike a traditional hotel, a housekeeping cottage is a self-catering experience. This means that while we provide the beautiful space and the tools you need, guests are responsible for keeping the cottage tidy during their stay and leaving it "broom clean" upon departure. This tradition helps us keep our rates affordable and maintains that authentic "cottage" feeling for everyone!

Finding Your Way to the Lake

Bailey’s Cottages is tucked away on the scenic shores of Moira Lake, located just minutes from the heart of Madoc, Ontario. Whether you are coming from the GTA or Ottawa, our "unplugged" escape is easily accessible via Highway 7 and Highway 62, making us a perfect midpoint for a peaceful getaway in Central Hastings.

How to Get Here

Once you arrive in Madoc, head south toward the water. You’ll feel the pace slow down as you turn off the main road and onto the quiet, tree-lined lane that leads to our six rustic cabins. We are a short drive from local favorites like O'Hara Mill Homestead and the West Highland Golf Course, giving you the perfect balance of secluded lakeside living and easy access to local amenities.

Arrival Tips

  • GPS Note: Most systems find us easily, but keep an eye out for our new white fish and hook signage at the entrance!

  • Supplies: We recommend stopping at the local shops in Madoc for your last-minute groceries before heading down to the shore.

  • The Drive: Our laneway is well-maintained, but we suggest taking it slow to enjoy the view of the maples as you approach the water.

Seasonal camping sites:

While most of our seasonal trailer spots are filled with campers dating back 20+ years, we do have a site open up now and then. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you're interested at [email protected]
